Frequently asked questions

Why does this give a different price than just adding my margin to cost?

Because shipping, GST on fees, and returns are charged on top of your cost — a naive cost-plus-margin price won't actually deliver your target margin once those deductions hit your settlement. This calculator solves for the exact selling price that clears your target after every deduction.

What's a 'charm price' and why does it matter?

A charm price ends in 9 (like ₹499 instead of ₹503) — a common psychological pricing pattern shown to convert better on marketplaces. We round up to the nearest ₹9-ending price so you never undercut your required minimum.

What margin should I target on Meesho?

Most sellers aim for 15–30% net margin. Higher-RTO categories (like fashion, where returns can run 15–30% in some regions) often need to target the higher end to stay profitable after returns.

What if the calculator says my target isn't achievable?

That means your target margin or profit is mathematically impossible given your current costs (for example, wanting 90% margin on a ₹50 product with ₹65 shipping). Lower the target, reduce your product cost, or choose a lighter shipping tier.
